Dr Senthil Thillainadesan
MBBS(Hons) BMedSc FRACP
Dr Senthil Thillainadesan is an endocrinologist with an interest in osteoporosis and metabolic bone disorders, thyroid disorders, pituitary disease, diabetes (type 1 and type 2), obesity and other endocrine diseases. Senthil graduated from the University of Melbourne with MBBS(Hons) and BMedSci. He completed his training in Endocrinology at RPA Hospital and John Hunter Hospital. He has continued to work at the Endocrine Metabolic Unit at RPA hospital as an honorary Visiting Medical Officer, where he primarily sees people with metabolic bone disorders and osteoporosis, pituitary, adrenal and thyroid disorders.
Senthil is passionate about deeply understanding the science behind the development of diabetes and obesity related health problems. He is currently completing lab based a PhD at the University of Sydney investigating how a history of weight loss and regain (weight cycling) influences health outcomes and the interaction between genetics and diet on metabolism. He is passionate about making science accessible to all people.
Senthil has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at conferences about bone disorders, diabetes and obesity.
